I think my couples have the best stories. I just did an engagement session in Bakersfield last weekend. Monique and Billy are tying the knot later this year in October. I'm blessed enough to be their wedding photographer.
These two actually grew up together and remember meeting one another as far back as elementary school. Monique says she has found memories of seeing Billy in high school but always played it cool.
Life took them down different paths for several years. Then about a year ago, fate intervened once again. Monique and Billy ran into each other and sparks flew. Billy said he just knew this was it and he couldn't let her go. They've been inseparable ever since.
As they got to know each other again they realized how much they had in common. Between the two of them they have 7 wonderful kids all around the same ages. When I asked them what their dream vacation would be. Monique said probably camping. They elaborated that whatever they chose it would be something for all their kids to enjoy with them.
We couldn't stop laughing. This session went by lightening fast and it made my night to see two people just so genuinely happy to be with the other. Billy admitted he thought this session was going to be boring but that it was anything but that.
I think my favorite thing about this session was just seeing them be silly with each other. Whether it was slow dancing in a field in the middle of a park or Billy picking Monique flowers out of the blue. Congratulations to this couple & thank you for choosing me to capture your day.
Until next time,
